Encouragement

We’ve all heard, or maybe even said the phrase: The Lord works in mysterious ways.

I was at work on Saturday, and someone with whom I work reached out to me to ask a question.

Now, I haven’t broadcast to the masses that since moving over to a new department, I’ve dealt with bullying.

This has been a new experience for me. I did not deal with bullying growing up.

I do consider myself to be a professional. I hold a professional role, so imagine my surprise, when I began to experience bullying in the workplace.

There are times when God sends you to give an encouraging word to the very people who have gone against you.

That’s exactly what happened Saturday.

God gave me a word of encouragement for the person who reached out. Their response was: Jessy – oh my gosh, you have no idea how much I needed to hear that. THANK YOU sincerely.

Allow me to encourage you, as I encourage myself, whenever God gives you a word, no matter who the audience is, deliver it. Exactly how God gives it.

We never know what the next person is going through.

Hurt people hurt people.

We are to be salt and light in this world.

We don’t return hate with hate. Instead, we love our enemies. We bless those who curse us. We bless and curse not. I promise you, it makes all the difference!

The world doesn’t need more Christians in word only. It needs more disciples of Christ in our actions.

I see on one this morning, very encouraging. The late great Barry White said in one of his most popular songs that we have to “Pratice What We Preach.” That easier said than performed, because the situation maybe something you never experienced, like “Bullying” so how can one prepare for something they never encountered. In those moments what will we do, if we serious about our faith the answer is a foregone conclusion. Excellent message

Thank you for such a thoughtful response. I’m thankful for God’s love in our hearts, the Word of God, and Jesus Christ’s example. Because of these, we learn how to respond in love. As you stated, this can be, “Easier said than performed.” That’s where the Holy Spirit comes in. I’m a work in progress, Lord knows. Trying to be more like Him each and every day!

It makes me sad that hurt people hurt people. But, it makes me glad that helped people help people. Bullies are no fun and can truly damage a person’s self esteem. I was bullied, and still have the scars. God restores!
