You know, in life, we face some uncomfortable situations. And sometimes we do things that go against what we know to be right to just STOP the discomfort. We stay in places God told us to leave, we remain in situations He never designed for us. Even when God creates a way of escape, we stay.
I’m guilty of it.
Why do we stay?
The discomfort of the moment sometimes seems too much. We can’t see past our pain, our affliction of right now.
But let me tell you.. It is far better to deal with the temporary discomfort, pain, sadness, (you fill in the blank) – for the here and now; rather than face an eternity of suffering for our disobedience.
When we stop and view things in the lens of eternity, what we endure in this life is temporary.
We have one goal: HEAVEN
And within that goal, not only do we want to get there, we want to get as many people there as we can. We want to tell as many people the good news of the gospel of Jesus Christ, as we can.
Our troubles are only a moment in time, as my Mama likes to say: This too shall pass.

Temporary Discomfort

What a encouragement message. I was listening to the great poet Maya Angelou talk about an experience she had with a young lady, the young lady wanted to commit suicide, but Maya Angelou asked her a question and the question was do you know what tomorrow will bring, the young lady said of course I do not know. Then Maya Angelou said, sense you don’t know, wouldn’t it make sense to find out. Our problems can seem difficult in the moment like you mention, but what if tomorrow is different, we can’t know until tomorrow comes. Discomfort is no one goal, but it can lead to a beautiful place. I leave you this, what if your life can save another life?
